Benefits of Adding a Boat Dock to Your Waterfront Home

Benefits of Adding a Boat Dock to Your Waterfront HomeAre you considering installing a boat dock onto your Dunedin property?  Well, there’s no better place to take full advantage of the many benefits water access has to offer.  Living in Dunedin, on a peninsula surrounded by water, with hundreds of interconnecting canals, dozens of lakes, more than enough beaches, and two major bodies of water means there is a lot of fun and relaxation to be had. This isn’t even touching on the scorching heat we experience in the summer that makes cooling off on the lake or in the gulf seem quite enticing.  Even the beautiful weather we have in the winter makes it possible to enjoy the benefits of easy access to the water all year round.

Benefits of Boat Docks in Dunedin

The addition of a boat dock on your Dunedin property can provide you with a:

  • Fantastic new fishing spot – Relaxing in a lounge chair on your own private pier is one of the most relaxing ways to go fishing; you can kick back, relax, and, if something pressing arises, simply pack up and you’re already home.
  • Private launch – If it’s a more exciting kind of fishing sport you’re after, or you just enjoy cutting through the water on a sunny day, then adding a boat lift can mean you can launch right from home.  No hassle, no transporting to and from a public launch, and no marina fees.  You can even store your vessel out of the waves and covered to keep it better protected from the elements, without the need to store it in the yard next to your home.
  • Wildlife and bird watching post – If you’re a nature lover, you’ll enjoy watching the water and skies for native wildlife.  You might even catch some spectacular Dunedin sunrises or sunsets.
  • Swim access – Not all homes with water access are ideal for swimmers, jagged rocks, razor sharp oysters, or even just a lot of tall grasses or seaweed can make it unpleasant to impossible to enjoy a swim in your own backyard.  Boat docks can let you add steps or a ladder out away from all that mess, so you can swim easily.
  • Entertainment area – Host a party, or enjoy a quiet evening with a few friends out over the water; the added options or a gazebo, bar, or open seating means your options are fully open!

Priority Marine Construction

With so many activities to plan for after your installation is complete, you need to make sure you choose the right boat dock designers for the job.  At Priority Marine Construction, we are the most trusted in the industry, because time and again we have provided the best designs, results, and customer services to each and every one of our clients.  Your satisfaction is important to us, which is why we work closely with you, every step of the way.

Because quality is just as important as beauty, all of our contractors are fully trained, experienced, licensed, and insured.  We also use only the highest quality materials available to construct a design that most perfectly suits the individual needs of each of our clients in the Dunedin area.

Materials and Construction

When you choose Priority Marine Construction, you can choose between Southern Pine lumber which is the strongest pressure treated wood available, or more exotic hard woods such as Ipe.  Also known as Brazilian walnut, Ipe is incredibly dense, and is resistant to corrosion, rot, and insect damage; in fact it is rated with a lifetime of more than 25 years! We also only use the highest quality stainless steel fasteners so they won’t corrode over time.

Because the pilings are possibly the most important part when constructing boat docks, we carefully determine the best method of their installation before we begin.  As the water depth and the ground beneath can vary by location, so do our methods for each using the proper heavy equipment.
